GT's with SCs or TCs--Octane Boosting/Help
I stumbled across this today while messing around and thought it was good tech info regarding octane levels and how to mix homebrew octane booster.

This might come in handy for those who want to push boost and/or have this to ensure good operation during races. Also, you can have a hot race tune made with this stuff and higher boost and then use it only at the track!
Also this from the KB website:

WARNING: Don't get tolulene on your paint!!!
Thx,
Mike

There is no way I would trust that. If I had a race tune I'd get race fuel...not hodge podge my own. Seriously...don't even bother with store bought octane booster. If you need 100 octane get it through your local track or pro shop. In all honestly though, if you can't do it on 93 you should beef up the engine...not the fuel

Many of these hydrocarbons are considered hazardous substances and are regulated by OSHA. The MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for unleaded gasoline shows at least 15 hazardous chemicals occurring in various amounts from 5% to 35% by volume of gasoline. These include big names like benzene (up to 5% by volume), toluene (up to 35% by volume), naphthalene (up to 1% by volume), trimethylbenzene (up to 7% by volume), MTBE (up to 18% by volume) and about 10 others. I don't see where it would hurt to add a little more to boost octane number since 35% of it is already tolulene!
I'm going to try one gallon and a full tank; that should put me at 94.3 (R+M)/2 if I use 93 as the feedstock. [(15*93) + (1*114)]/2 = 94.3
Thx,
Mike
