They might not be as good as snow tires but the stock tire seup that was on my v-6 stang was really quite good in the snow and you can pick a set of them up with rims very cheap and it would be a very easy and quick swap.

You can drive the car in winter but, depending upon where you live you CANNOT USE CHAINS ON YOUR CAR. Thus, the salesman was partially correct. I live in CA and actually had to sign a waiver that I would not use chains on my vehicle. I really dont have to worry about snow though....

I am thinking that it is because the car will rip up the roads surface.

I could not believe it either. I have never heard of such a thing. I think I have a copy of it in my glovebox...
