Will it be necessary for me to have my car tuned after adding some axle back mufflers? My understanding was that the new mufflers are after the sensor so it wont cause a problem. I know nothing about cars so any help appreciated.

No you wont need a tune.

No. Aftermarket mufflers don't add any noticeable improvement to exhaust flow since the Mustang Gt comes with mandrel bent 2.5" tubing and relatively free flowing mufflers. However, most people buy the aftermarket exhausts because they make the car sound meaner and more like a muscle car. If you are looking for big horsepower gains here you won't find them.

+1 You don't need a tune, but if and when you ever get a tuner you can have them take into account that you have a set of axlebacks and it might be worth a pony or two.

thanks for the help. Not looking for any HP gain (gasp) but just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to screw anything up. Some of the guys at work bought me some JBA's for a going away gift and I will put them on when the car comes in.

I wish I had co-workers like yours. We usally give out goodbye beatdowns(tie um up and hose em down) or play some messed up type prank on someone when they leave the shop. All in good nature though.
