AUTO TRANNY
Hey guys,
I put in a BBK CAI and now the car is shifting really rough. Its basically in the low gears and when taking off. Not sure if I need a tune or not? But BBK says that I don't need a tune with there CAI, I havent ever used a tuner but I am open to using one.
Any help?
Jim

RE: AUTO TRANNY
Yeah, you probably want to get a tune. Not only will you get more hp out of your intake, but you can change settings such as shift firmness, shift points, and alot more. The intake works great when coupled with the tuner.

RE: AUTO TRANNY
My CAI told you to do it in the directions. Disconnecting the battery is the same to rebooting your computer at home after installing new hardware. It starts over seeing how much air is being sucked in and pushed out.

Example...i put longtube hedders on the vette, the car learns all the part throttle perameters, car has more pull, but hit WOT,and when i scan my car it's pig rich unless you tune the WOT.Disconnecting the battery won't do it.I'm not doubting you,but seems shady to me,they have those WOT settings locked for a reason.
Are you saying the Ford "relearns" the entire tune?If so,why does anyone need a custom tune, just bolt on a supercharger, larger injectors and hit the track..please educate me as i'm new to Fords, but not OBD-2.

RE: AUTO TRANNY
It can adjust to a certin point. Like a CAI that doesn't need a tune. My K&N CAI it was able to do, but a C&L or something more aggressive it can't. It will re-learn within it's parameters.
Hope that make sence. Nothing replaces a tune. My K&N was noticable, but when I added the tune it was very noticable.
