You know what JT, you got a point. The car I first drove did have only 95 miles or so on it. Im sure the transmission isnt broken in on it (I know it took a little while to get my Stangs clutch to where I liked it). Im gonna drive one of the used Z's with some miles on now and see if theres a difference and im sure there will be. Have you driven one with the manual shift option on and auto? I drove one of those and it really is kinda cool!
Actually, I've never driven a Z with an auto tranny.
I've heard nice stuff about them, and that they have a smoother shift, but I never had a real interest in them since most of my cars, except one (1983 380SL), are manuals.
To me, it would seem kind of strange shifting without having a clutch.
I'm a member of a 350Z club in my area and I know there's a few members who have an auto so maybe I'll try and take their Z for a test drive the next time we have a meet.

I was going to say the same thing. A Brand Spankin' new car will not be as fast as one that's broken in. You may want to drive a used 350Z and compare. Also what model of 350Z were you driving? While the TQ remains all the same I believe in teh various models, the HP is different depending on the model.

Most import sports cars make their power at the higher end of the RPM range vs the luxury models that have a flatter tq/hp curve.
