Im just wondering what is the actuall horese power, torque, on a S197 stock 4.6 V8, Manual?? Because I'm sure its less than advertised

Popular belief is around 265-270 at the read wheels. Torque I couldnt tell you, sorry.

Advertised HP numbers are "at the crank." Actual RWHP is less due to drivetrain loses.

265 -270rwhp is what is the number that most DYNO shops are getting on stock 05 -06, this actually equates to about 320 - 325 at the crank. So we actually have more HP than advertised. There was a long *** thread about this not long ago.

320-325 at the crank net is about right in my book stock.

360-370 at the crank net with the intake and custom tune setups most guys are running.

We went over it in one of the older threads. Those numbers seem most accurate to me.

Ford got into trouble with the 2001 Mustang Cobra making less than the advertised horsepower. They lost a class action law suit. Bet your *** that the Mustangs made since then make MORE than the advertised horsepower.
