so how much will it cost to forge internals to make it safe for 500+ hp at the wheels?

RE: forging internals cost?
stock driveshafts are good for about 400 or so at the wheels. You'd need a crank, most use 03/04 cobra cranks I believe. Forged Pistons and rods, valve springs... I'm sure I'm forgetting something but I'd say 4-5grand to do it right...unless you do it yourself.
There's so much you can do as far as porting and polishing and stroker kits, different piston heads for different compression ratios, cams too. The point is if your opening your engine up get it all done at once and done right the first time. Cutting corners and you end up spending more money on install or even , gawd forbid, blowing your engine. It will be expensive and that's the best answer I can give you. Start researching all the stuff I mentioned and you'll get an idea. Just a thought

A complete forged rotating assembly costs about 2 grand, stiffening up your valvetrain about 500, head gaskets and canton oil pan for 1k i believe, a block girdle. Just make sure the compression ratio is 8.5:1 or lower.
