Seriously. Isn't the whole "Charger" thing supposed to be the off-the-line firepower?

Racing from a roll? Did I accidentally enter the Rice forum? When did racing from a "roll" become non-wussy? I guess I'm getting old. Can someone give me the rules on racing from a roll? Is 20 mph the standard racing from a roll speed, or can you start at any random speed? Like say 80 mph? I mean, seriously, if I'm pulling up on a Lamborghini who is going 15 mph and I'm doing 80, I know I could take him!
Erm since I only go to the track un sundays and I do street race. It is pretty hard to stop to 0 if you are on a highway, but I forgot old timers stay off highways because they can't keep up with all the cars moving and is too much to handle. I never understood why racing from a roll is rice, hell I am sure in the 50's people races from a roll and I think that is way before imports started catching up. I cant believe you need rules but yet again like I always said, there is no IQ test to join this forum so even the less affortunate could be here. Well it is simple pull up to a car get side by side at same mph. Either touch the horn 3x and at the 3x hit it, or if you with someone else do a countdown with fingers 1, 2, 3 or just wait till he guns it and you gun it (Don't know if you could do this one, since reaction times do tend to get slower /w age).

I know this well because..... I have one. The SRT-8 ran faster than my car both stock for stock. Hey why dont you try going vs one from a roll lets say 20mph. From the hole yes just about even because he has to move 4.4k lbs. If you took any physics course you would know that to get a mass moving takes more energy than moving faster a mass that is already moving. That was classic unexperienced opinion when I have one lol.
No, you obviously don't know this well. Who said we raced from a dig? I didn't. I actually started the race form a 40 mph roll. In fact, I have posted about my race a while back in two different threads. Here is a link to one, 4 posts down:

You just said we would have them from a dig, and I proved we stay almost even til about 70 from a roll, and even Motor Trend with the 0 - 60 times backs me up along with the others who have posted in this thread. It appears, if you have raced one and was "smoked", then you don't know how to drive.

I'm done here. Post all you want, throw a pity party, try to "misprove" me by using you superior intellect (laying on the sarcasm pretty thick at the end). Go live in your world, and I'll live with everyone else. Have a good evening.

ps. No, I will not respond to your attempts to "comeback", sorry. If it really bothers you that you were smoked, go take a driving course. There is a chance you'll get back on and say, "oh, it wasn't me that got smoked, it was my friend....". Goodnight everyone. [8D]

Who cares where you race from, if its a stop or from a roll...
But everyone knows that from ZERO till its done is how cars should be raced. It tells who has the faster car and is a better driver.
if your racing from a roll it depends alot on who hits the pedal first and who is closer to the sweet spot.
I raced that dodge viper from a 50Km/h roll and jumped on him because i reacted faster it took him 3-4 seconds before he started gaining.

So MR driver in what SCCA circuit do you run? Who are your sponsors? I got mine here in PR. check out the 20-70 times...

MUSTANG

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ang_specs.html

Where are the motortrend you are talking about? motortrend says the magnum srt-8 13.1 @ 108.2, Mustang GT 13.5 @ 103.6 Oh I almost forgot the SRT-8 is automatic so it doesn't even matter if you a really good driver or not.
Simple physics come on you are starting to move 4,400 lbs takes a tad more effort.

Please talk numbers leave the BS to yourself.

It's quiet because he said he wasn't arguing with you anymore. o.O

Roll Racing =/= An actual race.
Roll racing is only suitable for when you just randomly meet someone on the street. Planned races should ALWAYS be from a dig.

If you can't go from a dig, stay off the pedal.

ok, I think I got the racing from a roll now.
So if I'm in my m/t 2005 mustang GT, in 2nd gear right at the sweet spot, and the guy next to me in an automatic want to race from a roll... and I honk 3x and we go (which sounds kind of ghey to me, but for this scenario I'll go with it). I'm already in the sweet spot in 2nd gear. His auto has to take a fraction of a second to drop down a gear or two, so I've already got the advantage... how is that accurate as to who has the faster car or who is the better driver? By the time his trans has down shifts and gets moving I'm already 2 cars up on him, even if he has more hp... AND, who's to say he even knew you wanted to race? If you pulled up next to me, looked over, and honked 3x I'd give you the finger, then realize as you floor it you wanted to race... your 80 hp vw bug just got the jump on me, so I guess a vw bug can beat a Mustang GT.

Racing from a roll has gained popularity since the fwd imports gained popularity. (cause and effect for you youngsters)... fwd cars typically can't launch as hard as rwd cars, racing from a roll solves this problem... so racing from a roll has it's roots in rice...

There is something called triptonic, all new dodge cars are triptonic. This means you can manually change the gears as in lower the gears and keep the lower gear for example when you gonna race. As for your comment on the bug I repeat my statement on making mandatory IQ tests to join this forum that is all I gotta say reffering to that. Give the same car to me and you and I guarantee you I will have atleast 2 secs under you in any road course and quicker reaction/60 ft on any strip ill put anything on the line if you are willing. I posted the #, talk all you want. An SRT-8 magnum just beats our car, accept its limits when it is stock. What are you gonna say next??? That you stayed neck to neck vs a z06 c6 corvette at the track? 6mph trap speed is a HUGE difference; not to mention .5-.6 secs, that is around 5 lenghts or so.

I'm not saying which car is faster, and you may be a better racer than me... I was simply stating that racing from a roll is rice. It got popular because fwd imports couldn't keep up off the line. You can talk all you want, but there are too many variables to consider racing from a roll an accurate gauge of a car. It's sort of like referring to drifting as racing... it's more like ice-dancing.
We've all seen the videos from the Rice forums that show a Honda blowing by a Mustang, then the owner of the Honda saying they beat a Mustang... that's because the Honda was racing from a roll, while the Mustang was simply on his way to pick up some milk from the grocery store and didn't realize they were racing...
