I just returned from a trip from Orange County, California, to Monterey, CA. about 370 miles one way!
...
PS, Our car is stock, we drove with the top up, and the hood did flutter a bit over 80MPH!
Sounds like fun - these are surprisingly and objectively comfortable cars for long drives - even with the top down...

As for your hood - mine did too until I played with the rubber stops. Now I have done some 100+ passes and plenty of ~80MPH driving without a wiggle...

Forth, it's always the 4-cyl camrys, altimas, and sentras that go 90-plus MPH at night, WAY over thier heads!!
That's nice... I recall my old peugeot 405 1.8litre 4 cilinder doing 95 for the longest time going home to holland from france without being in over my head (engine RPM around 3800). Not running hot or anything.

But roadtrips, yeah, gotta love em. Drove to San Antonio from Dallas TX. I hate the fact Ford didn't put in a bigger gas tank. You do not get tired in a v8 stang. And I didn't use cruize, I never have... I'm old school.

Cruise control was the greatest invention since sliced bread! And of course, the bikini!

Having 4 people in the car didn't help gas mileage at all, especially going uphills. Sounds like you had a nice time. I do notice I can cruise up steep hills in O/D very easily.

We do alot of driving, our family is pretty spread out, Aunts and Uncles in Placerville, CA. and Jackson, Mississippi, Grandma is in Lewistown, Montana!
My wife and I travel with my two daughters, age 11 and 14, no complaints from the back seat about leg room! They love the GT! Our previous car was a Saturn L300 sedan, a very underrated car, but it needed more power than the 182HP 4-cam V-6 could provide... I could split 2 semis in a wind storm with one hand in that car, and it would still track perfectly straight! Totally impervious to side winds!! I found out that the Mustang is just as good in this respect, not sure if it is weight or aerodynamics...
