Default RE: Saleen Supercharger install with Pics

Greetings saleen sam,
Well, I did a couple of things after the initial install to get everything running smooth,
First off, if you don't want to basically destroy your JLT intake beyond all recognition, jsut yank it, and sell it, then buy the proper one (like C&L racer).

But what I did was:
Heat the inside of the PVC tube with a heat gun (no, a hair dryer won't work here) on the side that connects to the 90 deg. elbow.
gently flatten the tube about 20% (I pushed it to the floor with my foot when it was hot enough to start to move)
only the first half of the tube needs be bent.

I originaly was going to use the stock maf sensor in the JLT, but JDM said without a custom tune, they did not feel comfortable with me using it, so I bought a 90mm lightning MAF, and adapter flange for the filter.

To make this fit, I took the now slightly oval PVC tube, and placed it in my Miter Saw, and cut behind the aluminum maf attached to it.(make sure you measure back far enough, as it is in the tube farther than it looks)

then the 90mm MAF fits perfectly inside. I stuck a gear clamp on it to seal, and BIngo... JLT on the Saleen...
Hope this helps
Matt-

Cool. Thanks for the writeup. Those extra pics should help with my install, which will hopefully be this weekend (still waiting for my sct/JDM tune and filter to arrive). Anyways, my question is this: Is there any other way to remove the fuel rail/line without the use of the Ford SST?

Thanks

Hey Racefiend,
I'm not sure what a Ford SST is.., but if your asking how to remove the fuel line from the rail, just run to Sears and get a 'Fuel Line Disconnect tool', My kit came with 5 different sizes for only $9. very easy to do with this tool.

also, don't forget to get a Hose Clamp pliers and borrow a coolant pressure test pump (borrow from a shop)

Red2006. sorry no video yet, but A couple of weeks ago I was watching several videos after searching thru a bunch of forums.. I believe several can also be found on streetfire.com

Best of luck on the install RaceFiend
