Lit 'er up...in reverse ;-)
It was totally accidental but it was kind of funny.
A light rain had just started, ruining my plans for working around the house this Sunday. Being flexible I decided to run up to the local market, grab some Fat Tire, and watch the ball game instead.
In order to park in front of the store I needed to do a 3-point turn, using a driveway on the same block. As I crossed the oncoming lane to turn into the driveway, I noticed another car coming, not too close but still there. I didn't want the other car to have to slow down (I'm a giver that way) so I wanted to make the turn relatively quick. I pull into the driveway, slap her into reverse, tap the throttle and...WHEEEEEE! Nothing but spinnin' tires
I got off the throttle right away but instantly smelled hot rubber (it followed me into the store too). I finished the turn and parked. Some guy is walking by on the sidewalk, yakking on his cell phone, and giving me a WTF look - all I can do is shrug
The owner of the store, who is a great guy and whose kid I am putting through college on his beer-profits, says, "What are you doing out there?" I say, "Man, I'm sorry." He says, "No, no; you should do that move every time you come up here!"
P.S. It's all (mostly) Brenspeed's fault. The SCT XCAL2 91 octane tune that came with the JLT CAI is SWEEEET! Throttle response and shift are much improved. If I'm doing 60 mph on the highway and drop her into 3rd to make a pass, all I have to do is twitch my big toe and we're doing 90 mph instantly. Nice job guys (pls send the check to my Cayman Island account...)
