Default replacing the fuel filter

anyone know if there is a special trick or tools needed to release the fittings on the 05 GT fuel filter?

Yes their is a special tool. Its really just a plastic split ring for pushing in at both ends of the filter. Just go to a good parts/auto store like Pep boys or auto zone and tell them you are changing a fuel filter on a late model ford. They'll hook you up . It think a set of various sizes are about 12-15 bucks.

I just did mine two weeks ago. Be careful, the filter's pressurized so gas is gonna spray out all over the place!

I think I'll be doing this after my next oil change. How often do yall change the filter?

I did mine yesterday. The real pain is the shroud over the fuel filter.(Location is on the driver's side rail) I just unbolted the back half and pull down two the plastic ratchets and bent the shroud down. The fuel kill switch is on the driver's kick panel. It was kinda of a pain in the *** as far as fuel filter go.
