Ford stopped with the commercials and advertising the car when they quickly found they were in no position to meet demand, and would soon cancel 20k+ orders. Even they aren't foolish enough to advertise something they don't have available to sell.

Ktowngt, Steve McQueen was in the movie Bullitt back in 1968. It has arguably the most famous car chase scene in cinematic history between a 1968 Mustang and 1968 Dodge Charger. Steve McQueen drove the Mustang. It is absolutely a must-see for Mustang fans.

Everyone had mentioned this commercial to me, but I had never, ever had the chance to see it, until now! Yes, very awesome! The fact that the coolest actor ever(Steve McQueen) has made the Mustang a legendary cinematic icon with Bullitt, it's only fitting he's in one of the first commercials to air on TV introducing the S197 Mustangs. Wasn't that commercial one of the SuperBowl half time ones in 2005?
