Default X-Pipe Purchase Question...

So, using Flowmaster Axle-Backs, what is the best set up for the money to let all that power out?? I have Ford Racing Shorty headers (sitting in a box) but fixing to return them *maybe* and got Pypes T-409 X-pipe *(sitting in a box).... I have time to return and do something different, just wanted to elaborate with the people that have already completed this or these mods and how much really a different did it make? Besides sound with the X-pipe, especially w/ how much the headers are going to do, labor is expensive so I've heard.. Obviously the X pipe will open it up dramatically.

I know it's going to cost some $$$ to install the headers and just want to get the best sound and power for the money w/ the mufflers.. Any tips or suggestions on what to get would be great!!

I know everyone here is great and been awhile since I've posted.. My car has been in the ER since Oct. 1st!!! Hardcore curb check but going back together nicely with Steeda sway bar this time and Motoblue Billet Gen II's on it. (trying to get as much as possible w/ insurance crud).. Oh, and also went with the 19" x 9.5 Foose 5's this time on the rear with 255/40's (Falken 452's). *Had 35 series so hopefully my a$$ won't hurt as much going over bumps daily this round...

Anyways, start throwing me some ideas,,,please..... maybe wait on the headers until I go F/I and just not worth doing the headers without the F/I and just go w/ an X-pipe right now????.. I kind of wanted the 304 stainless (looks mainly,, but really whom is going to get under neath my car with a mirror and drool b/c they are 304 polished,, lol , not sure if it really even matters. Maybe long term for corrosion purposes, but that takes a lot of time.

Thank in advance!!!

I wouldn't bother with the Shorty headers. The HP gains are too small to be worth the cost and the effort of the install.

Get a set of longtubes instead. The labor is basically the same. They generally come with an X-pipe, and while the cost his higher the HP gains are must better than the shorties.
