Default Torque Converter

I got the car back to the track Saturday after lentech made an adjustment to the converter stall speed. I only got one run in because Raceway Park was packed. It picked up 2 tenths and ran 12.90 @ 103.79 MPH. The 60 foot dropped from 1.99 to 1.85. The track was cold but the tires still hooked pretty well. The suspension is all stock with the exception of some rear drag shocks.

Hey man,

Drop me a line next time you go out there - I'd like to see you run! I've been thinking about a converter, so I'd also like to pick your brain a bit. What's your stall set at?

The converter flashes to about 3400 - 3500. The first converter I got from Lentech flashed to 2800RPM. I sent it back and Lentech loosened it for free. They changed the stator to one with a different pitch. I love the converter now.

Our engines need a 4000 stall for maximum acceleration. But you would sacrifice some driveability. 3500 is a whole lot better than stock!

Does the new TC just give you a better lauch from a standstill or does it give you more power throughout the RPM range or both?
