Default Reprogrammers - which one?

A lot of out there. See that Diablosport and SLT seem to the best. Anybody have any preferences? Definitely going to use a CAI. My desision on that will be based on what will go with my intake cover. I seems the most important thing is reprogrammer.

The tuners (reprogrammers) are pretty much the same. They are just a device for copying a tune file onto your car's computer. The real key is not the device itself, but the tune file. And that depends onwho you buy it from! If you buyfrom a discount vendor like RPM outlet or Summit Racing, you will get a crappy default tune. This is not good. You want to buy a tuner from an actual tuning shop with an expert tuner (technician) on staff. This way you will get a custom-written tune, not the default garbage.

Evolution, Brenspeed, and B amachips are all good companies for this. My personal recommendation is to talk to Brent at Brenspeed. He will hook you up with a great tune and great customer service. He also has package deals on CAI + tuner.

Pick a shop to tune your car, then buy the tuner that shop recommends. It seems to me that most people on this forum have purchased an SCT II / CAI from either Brenspeed, Evolution Performance, or Bamachips. They sell the tune, CAI, SCT II as a package. I'm happy with my tune from Evolution Performance.

I must second callahan's recommendation of the JLT II, an SCT 2 and Evolution with Fred at the controls. I'm running the 93 tune and whoooooooa baby!! Its like my baby is brand new.

like Al said, they're all pretty much the same, but it matters whose software your tuner has. SCT is most prevalent. I would go with them simply because they are the widest used and the availability is better.
