Yeah, checkout MAC....I just put some on. Great "old school" sound, but they do drone.

I was looking for the same sound! I spent alot of money trying to get there. These 3valve heads create a high pitch sound if you add offroad pipes H or X pipes. I would have to agree with keeping the stock mid pipe which already have high flow cats. Then you just have to find the right mufflers. There is a thread on here with a link to all the sound clips. If you can't find it check out brenspeed.com

IMO the best setup is an o/r h-pipe, dont get the prochamber though, and FRPP/Steeda/Borla Stingers axle back...u dont need the catback, seriously the stock pipes are fine

I love the magnaflow magnapacks! They are a straight thru design and give the deep agressive tone with little tono crackle! I have drone at 1800 RPM but it is not unbearable at all. The rest of the system is stock. I was told that the stock exhaust on the mustang is great and the sound was just to tame for me. I also think that unless you go with LT's the shorties really won't give any real world gains as the stock headers for a N/A car will flow very well. Ford did well wiht the exhaust and if only interested in changing the sound just do a muffler install. There are many clips of the magnapacks on their website and make sure you have the sub on when listening. Check it out! Oh one thing to keep inmind my setup is wiht the side exhaust and I am sure that chenges the tone as well!

you want MAC's for that old school, deep rumble. Borla is very deep, but IMO the sound has no definition to it.

I have the FRPP Stingers...I have NEVER heard them "crackle", but I have heard them "gurgle."

I think the "gurgle" sounds INSAAAANE!!!!!!!
