You'll need a tune to go above 6200. I usually shift around 6400-6500 with the limiter set to 6800.

The factory setting on the rev limiter is 6250. Like others, I have mine set at 6800 rpm's. I have pulled it to 7k on the dyno. With my cams and other mods, my power band hangs long in the rpm band, so my optimal shift point at the track is 6600 rpm's per the dyno graphs. Being stock, you are out of the power band way before that, so 5800ish is a good shift point to drop back into peak torque on the shifts. As modular81 says, there is a torque naany that will begin to pull timing as you approach the pre-set rev limit of the tune, so a shift 200 or 300 rpm's before that keeps you off the nanny.

I have a 07 gt and it is auto. My best street results were shifting manually at 6,250 rpm on tachwhich equates to 6,500 actual shift . Beyond that you are wasting your time literally. I have a fuego tuner 93 tune, and Granatelli cai with stock 3.31 gears and flow masters. I am really satisfied, and because I liveIn Phoenix Arizona, I really can't do a supercharger. 115 degrees is just too much hot air to deal with/
