just read a new update on the up and coming Bullit edition Mustang. said sources inside Ford are saying that there's a possibility of a natural aspired 4.6 with 400 HP. well that's awesome, but it sucks that i bought my '07 GT end of summer last year and now they're coming out with something that's 100 HP stronger. your thoughts?
Don't worry about it and enjoy your ride! Some faster model is always going to show up at some point. I bought my GT after reading the rumors about the new Mach1/Bullitt, and I get to drive a car I like today rather than wait for some future rumored model for which we don't have the specs yet.

Plus there's always Paxton, Whipple, and others to fill the gap with future models performance-wise [8D]

I just did a bit of reading last night about the Parnelli Jones Mustang from Saleen. Looks pretty good, but I'm guessing it's gonna be a nice little chunk of change to buy.

Ford is going to start using a 5.0 OHC engine sometime in the near future (08-08). Its base is around 340hp (as ours are advertised as 300hp), so probaly around 275-290 rwhp. That is the engine that the Buillit will use. HOWEVER, the new BOSS mustang will be released soon. It have less sound deadening material so it will be lighter, and it is said to have the DOHC 5.0 NA with 430 HP, so 350-375 to the wheels. The Bullit looks good, except they should make a special wheel design. The only ones i have seen are the base, dark colored ford rims. The boss is ok as well. The performance is very nice, but the look to me seems like they are taking a shelby(especially the rims) and modifying thier design with some boss stripes. Which is essentially what they did in the 60's. But both cars look very nice, especially with the retro body design

Hey guys. Yeah, I'll admit that a new, neater Mustang with more power would make my decision to jump on the 07 GT one to think about, but think about this. Ford has shown a loyalty to those of us who get all shaky and excited by being jammed back in the seat when we mash the pedal down. Headlines in the business section detail the financial problems Ford is having and, in the interest of being able to buy a 2012 replacement for an aging 2007, I figure that anything Ford can do to offer more choices, sell more cars and make more of us happy means that they'll be around, producing exciting vehicles into the future. The last thing we need is for Ford to morph into another company cranking out Camry lookalikes.

I love my car! I wouldn't trade it for anything else.... Why spend more money on a brand new car when I can easily buy the parts to mod my stock and make it look and drive like any of those..... lol.... *tear*

I am sick of the special editions that give dealers reasons to demand crazy money.

[....] . Ford has to learn thatall theselimited production models do is pad dealer pockets.
No matter what the Boss and Bullitt's engines will do, the only numbers that really matters to 90% of buyers is the sticker price, and everybody here knows it will beway overpriced. Ford promised that the GT500 woudn't be sold the way the new T-Bird was6 years ago with the outrageous second stickers, but look what's happened anyway. That's why I just waited until 07 to buy the GT exactly the way I wanted it... at about $2K less than MSRP. I can put that savings back into the car, and get better numbers than the new Shelby GT will ever get off the showroom floorthat will cost about $6K-$9K more (not counting the dealer second sticker).
