Default perimeter lighting

I tried this post before, but got no responses.
2007 GT premium. Has a feature where if you unlock doors with key fob, head lights and tail lights come on. While it can be helpful to find your car, it is a little too "flashy" for me--kinda like--"Hey look--I'm getting in that awesome black mustang--and you're not"
I know some may like that, but generally I dont need that much "flash". Problem is, I have followed the manual for disabling it, and it doesnt disable it. Could some one else try it, and tell me if you are able to disable it? Thank you.

Works perfectly and take 30 seconds:
DO NOT use the unlock button on the fob, you MUST use the unlock button on the drivers DOOR. It definetly doesnt work if u use the fob for the sequence.
