HAHA. but thank you for that info, ill be sure to download it.

to me, the SCT Livewire seems like the ultimate tuner; it even has gauges and all that realtime display shizz. it does, however, carry an ultimate price. its like 500 bucks i think.

if i had the $, id say its probably worth it.

I actually ordered my Livewire this AM from Steeda. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. It does great things...just based on the what the dude on the phone told me, it will do dyno-like assessments of HP, TQ, 1/4 mile time estimates ('course I won't take that seriously, as driver matters), will automatically re-cal the speedo if you change out the gears, has a USB connection to your PC to download updates in the future, can store 3 tunes...pretty awesome!

Just something to keep in mind:

The regular SCT tuner can do95% of what the Livewire can do. It stores 3 tunes. It lets you correct your speedo if you change gears. It lets you log data and display it, and the tuning functions are identical. You can download/upload tunes from your PC with a USB connection.

The difference is that the Livewire comes with those 1/4mi and HP estimate features, and it also has "gages" for realtime display. However, note that all those 1/4mi, etc, calculators can be found for free online, and if you hook up your regular SCT to a computer (laptop anyone?) then it too will display your data using free software you can download from SCT.

So for the average person, the regular SCT tuner is a much better buy. The Livewire is basically the same thing with some extra "jewlry" features and a bigger price tag.

If you are considering the Livewire, I would ask yourself why you're buying it. Do you need those "gages"? Do you even know what to do with that realtime data? (For tuning purposes you need the data logged anyway).

I would suggest that that extra money would be much better spent on a set of LCAs....

Good points and appreciate your suggestions...I'm confident in my purchase, however. I'm no expert, and as of today, wouldn't understand every little item on the tuner. But I will. I always do my homework and enjoy soaking up information. I would never shy away from a much more detailed and complete product, due to any fear of not understanding it. Of course, there's also the "wow" factor I'll get at my next Mustang club meeting. :-)

As for the online stuff...great...but I don't want to spend forever looking for all that stuff--it'll be nice to have all that in one package.
