You should have been seeing numbers near those stock. Im sure they gave some improvement, but it should have been more than that. A tune and intake is generally said to give around 25-30 hp, 20 at the least. Not to mention you have "cat-backs", what do you mean by that? To my knowledge there arent any "cat-back" kits out for our cars like there were for previous models. You either have an axle back, a different midpipe or header back system with this car. If its a different midpipe, you should gain about 5-10 hp depending on the crossover, and around 20-25 if its headers back. Youre showing improvement of about 10 over a stock auto (255 rwhp and 275 rwtq). Either you were tuned wrong or something is faulty, it just doesnt seem right...
The cat back borla system gets rid of the pipes after the mid-pipe, as well as the axel backs.

^ Hm, never heard of that system for our cars...so I have no idea about gains for it [8D]... but still, youd think it would provide more hp than hes getting out of it. And that doesnt excuse the poor results from his intake and tune. Im thinking he should have just had the guy doing the dyno tune the car while it was there.

So what does the Borla system actually do, just replace all of the pipes after the midpipe, or does it drop them off totally.. like some of sort of down pipe kit?

those #'s dont make sense to me either.... w/ an auto you'd lose about 18% fly to rear wheels... @ 265 rwhp = 315-320 @ flywheel....also.... there is a spread sheet floating around this site that indicated most stock GTs put down 265-275...

I also agree w/ the other comments as far as tune... get a custom tune... best if you can bring it to a dyno tuner to really customize it!! SCT definantly a good set up....

good luck on the next dyno run

I think one thing that everyone is missing here is that he is on a Mustang Dyno. The numbers are generally lower for these than on a DynoJet. The 265 - 275 average are numbers from a DynoJet.

found the spread sheet thread...

https://mustangforums.com/m_2625816/tm.htm

I isolated 4 bone stock cars...avg RWHP 270... 2 indicate on a dynojet... the others dont indicate.... you can playaround and isolate different combos if you know excel at all...

There is nothing wrong with his tune, at the end of the day his hp is not to far off from everyone else, since he dynoed on a mustang dyno (which I think is real street hp numbers) he is right on.

Stock baseline on my N/A saleen 330 crank I put down 250rwpm with a 5 speed. Before any tune etc... After tune and CAI and o/r xpipe I was at 280 rwhp.

The only real way to tell hp/tq is on the track...Again his numbers are fine

There is something wrong with his tune if it is the canned tune....you cant tell me that brent or dougs tune wont give him some great gains. Dyno tune would be the best though.

06SALEEN - Your #'s dont make sense either... on a 5spd... you lose about 15% crank to wheels..... 250 RWHP on a MD s/b 295-300 crank.... stock stangs are dynoing 255-265 on a MD... 275 on DJ...

something's not right in Denmark

my 06 put down 435 on MD (Vortech H.O.w/ custom SCT tune)
