Default Dyno Pull Numbers

Hi all,
had three pulls yesterday at the local dyno shop, using the PowerDync Mustang dynamometer. I wanted to share the numbers with you.

RWHP: top score of 264.5 (with WCF) @ 4857 RPM/112.9MPH
RWTQ: top score of 285.6 (with WCF) @ 4857 RPM/112.9MPH

The numbers would have been much higher, if it weren't for the fact I never used the LiveWire to move the electronic limiter up--once the computer hit the max, the exhaust let out a bit of black smoke, as if to tell the tech, "okay, no more".

Also, the tech did a calc which is typical for autos, and figured I had 355HP from the engine...so the conclusion was my mods I've done so far HAVE made a difference. That is, the CAI, 87 SCT tune, Borlas. The TB spacer has negative effect, I realize--just helps with throttle response.

I was a bit nervous running her up to the limit--I tend to baby my cars, but I was curious and the numbers, to me, were better than I was expecting. Once I get the 93 tune (after I drain this tank) and add the UDPs, I'll give it another pull.

What'd you do, use the canned tune from sct? You should have bought a tuner from brenspeed or B amachips.

Brent can hopefully write a tune for him using the livewire. Doug might be able to also. The livewire looks to be a cool tuner so as long as he can get some tunes its not a big deal.

This is living proof that the last 3 mods on your list arewastes of money without a proper tune. You should be at least 285rwhp.

ummm....I couldn't disagree more. I went up 55 raw HP. It's only a waste if my scores went down.

You should have been seeing numbers near those stock. Im sure they gave some improvement, but it should have been more than that. A tune and intake is generally said to give around 25-30 hp, 20 at the least. Not to mention you have "cat-backs", what do you mean by that? To my knowledge there arent any "cat-back" kits out for our cars like there were for previous models. You either have an axle back, a different midpipe or header back system with this car. If its a different midpipe, you should gain about 5-10 hp depending on the crossover, and around 20-25 if its headers back. Youre showing improvement of about 10 over a stock auto (255 rwhp and 275 rwtq). Either you were tuned wrong or something is faulty, it just doesnt seem right...
