I really think you need to determine what your needs are. But the first rule of forced induction should be.........if price is an issue you really shouldn't do it.[:-]

vortech FTC (for the cheap)

KENNE BELLE FTW

can someone explain to me why anyone would get a centri, price not being a factor? i hate the idea of losing low end power.

here my reasoning.....

around town the car make plenty of power.... nice easy cruising... very comfortable..... if I'm running the car... well I'm shifting at 6Kish and staying above 3500-4000 RPM anyway in the heart of the powerband.....so it's making tons of boost and power..... also IMO it make the hook @ launch a bit better in street trim..... the vast majority of us dont drive ***** out all the time...and/or in full drag trim (if ever in drag trim).... to me it made more sense....

best to anyone who mods w/ S/C

+1

I am also happy with the decision I made to get a Vortech S/C...for me, it was the most practical.

Good luck with your decision...

but what about like daily driving, does it feel more powerful? i've heard that it makes less low end torque than a n/a combo, and idk, maybe its just me, it seems like it'd be better for the track and less fun daily driving than a twin screw or roots. id love to be proven wrong.

I haven't noticed any lack of power or torque on the lowend.... power comes in like a BEAST starting 3000 RPM.......making 290 ft-lbs at 2900 ..... and when you shift around 6K and rpm drops to mid 4200 or so... makes 350 lbs... and she revs so more freely.... to me its the best of both worlds...

S/C's they are all great!!!

Vortech is cheaper...decide if you want a drag car or a street car and that will help!

thats why I like nitrous. you have your all motor power, then when its time to play, flip the switch. all for under a 900.

Vortech:
1) Cheaper.
2) Quiter.
3) Durability & High quality.
4) Simpler & Easier to install.
5) Less stress on engine (less torque down low).

KB:
1) More power.
2) Big block torque.
3) Instant throttle response.
4) Whining sound (some poeple like it)
