Default ordering a gt500

My boss is considering purchasing a gt500 and was wondering if he ordered the car would he get it at retail, or would he still pay the $20k dealer markup.

best bet would be to go around and ask a few dealers. all dealers i've seen have marked up, but i'm sure there are some good ones out there

I have seen the mark up as high as 46k (total 88k). ford should never allow these dealers to do this. IMO this car will never be like the 03/04 cobra, they were almost like a sleeper compared to these cars when it comes to price. I dont see an end in site on the mark ups. As soon as there going for the 40-42k that they should be I will get one that day without blinking an eye. But I dont see that happening.

I've seen a dealership selling the gt500 on ebay for $52k so there must be a few decent dealers left. I know where I bought my gt they're getting $68K for the vert.

52k is the starting bid more than likely they will sell it alot higher.

Tell him to wait 1-2 years. I understand the GT500 is at least a 3 year deal. Hopefully the price will go down along with demand.

I don't think he really wants to wait, he's the type of guy when he wants something he usually gets it right away. He's got an 02' gt with a brand new engine and paint and a 97 Eldorado he wants to trade in for the 500 downpayment.
