Dyno tune questions
Hello all. I'm fairly new here, been lurking and reading for about a month now. Thanks to all the good discussions here, I have learned quite a bit.
I just placed my order for a 07 GT 5-speed manual, and I'm considering the following mods, probably in this order as well:
Che K-Member and torque limiters
CAI and tuner - probably C&L from Brenspeed.com
Header long tubes, X pipe, and Stingers - have not decided on where/who I want here yet, suggestions welcome
Suspension - probably one of the Steeda Suspension Packs
SC - either Whipple, ProCharger, or Saleen
Now, to my question, should I get a Dyno tune right when I receive my GT, kind of a bench mark to base all the mods from? Or is it safe to assume all GTs are close to the 270mark rwhp in a stock setup?
Sorry if this is kind of a noob question.

RE: Dyno tune questions
You should get your Gt tuned to get a "base" to see where your at. More than likely a stock GT will not be 270 rwhp, depending what kind of dyno you do ( i prefer mustang dyno) you will be in the 245-255 range, and if it is a dyno jet 255-265 range. Whatever dyno you use stick to it so you can see the comparsion of what you have done

RE: Dyno tune questions
What is the time frame with your mods....you say SC....how long down the line are you thinking because if yor are getting this soon then the CAI and tune is not worth really. And if the SC is quite a ways down the line then get the CAI and tune first...then maybe the k-member and torq limiters
I would recommend going with BMR instead of steeda. Much better products in most peoples opinion.
Again just my opinion, and yes get a base dyno so you can see where you are starting from. 260-270 can be expected on dynojet

RE: Dyno tune questions
Thanks for the quick replys! And good suggestions!
Yeah, I knew once I go SC, the CAI would probably have to come out. The SC will probably not be for a little while, maybe a year or so. So, in the mean time I could benefit from the CAI, since that is much cheaper, and easier to put in than a SC.
I guess I'll have to see who in my area performs Dynos.
Typically, I figured they run couple hundered, does that sound about right?

RE: Dyno tune questions
So, at what point should I get it Dyno'd?
Right after I get it? Or after it's broken in a little (500 to 1000 miles maybe)?
I hear a lot of people getting their first oil change at 1000. Maybe after this?

RE: Dyno tune questions
It really doesnt matter when but do it before you start to put things on so you can get the baseline. I would change your oil and wait until maybe 1500-2000 and get it done. Just my preference.
