Default Can O2 sensors go bad?

All

I was wondering if O2 sensors can go bad? I have the tune to turn them off, with my O/R X and LT headers, but for some reason, every now and agian I get a CEL. No codes come up, but after I unhook the XCAL2 the CEL goes away. WTFO, this is really driving me bat ****. The only thing I can think of is on eof the O2's was hard to get out, so I had to use Break-Free to help it out. Could there be **** blocking the sensor? Any input would be great. Also can you wash the sensor, ( using the word wash, meaning using brake cleaner) or would that Fu(k up the sensor? Thanks for the input once again.

Whick o2 are you refering to?
Front befor the cats, or the cat monitores which are after the cats?
They can go bad but the tune turns off the rear sensors so you dont get a cat efficiancy code if you are running an off road pipe with no cats.

Read through it again. People have been having cel due to the long tube headers.

Pro Prime,

It's the fronts, cause I remember spraying break-free on them to get them to come loose. If alot of peolple are getting CEL's due to LT's, have you heard of a fix? just asking.

an o2 sensor is just that...a sensor...all electrical parts can go bad. try knocking out some of the carbon, and spray it down with some carburetor cleaner. if that dont work you know you have a bad sensor.

Yes they can go bad. Not exactly sure what that stuff is you sprayed on them to get them loose or out, but if its not meant to be sprayed on them, then it could have corroded (spelling? lol) them and caused them to fail.
My o2s had to be replaced after I blew my motor because all the liquids that spewed out and down my exhaust screwed em up.
