If the cars aren't stock.....then who can be sure who will win. I've seen some extremely fast modded Hondas and some extremely fast modded Mustangs. If that extremely modded Honda pulls up to your lightly modded stang than you might get embarrassed.
Fatter wallet = faster car.................................ALWAYS.

I don't think that would be considered extremely modded...

Those S2K's are torqueless wonders. Had a dingleberry in one pull up next to me in my Wifes V8 AWD Mountaineer at a stoplight. It was maybe a little less than a 1/8th to the next light and his land ended at the next light. He was being a real tool, revving and just acting like a moron. So when the light turned green, I decided that he may come over in front of me, but he wasn't getting it easy. Launched the truck and put almost a car length and a half on him in 60'. By the time we got7/8th's of the way to the light, he was at my doorhandle and given a full 1/4 mile, he woulda raped me.
So I guess long story short... If ya race one, expect ot put a huge holeshot on him, but expect him to reel ya back in on the top end. Keep the race short, and you'll really embaress him. Those things make no torque and are all top end. Most drivers don't drive them right either. You hafta wind em up to like 9K before shifting. Most seem to shift at like 6K, which is well before it makes peak power. As for who would win... Depends on alot of things, but all others being equal.. the stang should have it.

a stock S2000 is a tad behind a new edge GT. if u can handle ur car, an a197 will take it out easy. Ive heard the s2000 doesnt respond well to mods either, being such a small motor, they opened it up about as much as they could already. any further mods are only SLIGHT improvements

I had an S2k for 4 years before buying the 07 GT. I can tell you this, the S2k is just about impossible to launch correctly. I use to launch at about 7k. Sometimes it would hook up, most times it would spin the tires too hard. ...advantage Mustang.
On a mountain road.... advantage S2k.

I go to a dyno almost every night to hang out since it is my friends dyno. I still haven't seen one s2000 that is pulling 30+ rwhp than factory on n/a. I have seen them loose hp by putting on headers and exhaust. Those cars are so worked from the factory that almost anything you can do on them will prob reduce ur hp. I have seen it time and time again. The only way they run is on boost or nitrous. N/A they are a joke.
