Trashed my trans at the strip last week, lost 5th gear and reverse
Checking out all the web gossip on this trans and looking into the box now that it's out of the car it seems it's not the best box in the world for taking abuse at the track.
Is it possible to rebuild it stronger? who supplies the parts and has anyboby done this mod'?
Failing that is there a suitable trans that will swap in?
Any feedback welcome

Would be much better putting a t-56 in if you want a 6 speed or a tko 5 speed.

Thanks guys, I'm thinking TKO but wondering what else needs to change? bell housing, mounts, propshaft (sorry for the UK terminology) and if anybody offers it as a kit.
The viper conversion looks bulletproof but I keep thinking I only have a little 13 second car how do I justify spending all that on a trans.....?

They are charging $1400 more for this same viper-specconversion than D&D. What else are you getting for $1400?

Facing having to beef up transmission anyway, I opted to swap the stock 5 speed with a fully manual 3 speed auto with transbrake and lockout. It's rated at 900 hp. Stall torque converter is set at 4000.

Steve I would prefer to go with the aeromotive pump or if you go with the 2 gt500 pumps please get a circuits that if one goes out the other one shuts off. Nothing is worse than loosing 1 pump and the other still working creating a severely lean condition.
