Default yet another exhaust post in the quest to find that perfect sound

well, i was pretty much set on getting Mac a/b's with an o/r prochamber, based on hearing MAC's with an o/r x in real life, and the sound clips of the o/r prochamber with stock mufflers. that is, until i saw these clips posted:

and now i want that.

thing is, i wanted to get flowmaster at the beginning, thinking that it would sound like it does on the 5.0's and 2v's, but as we all now know, the A/t axlebacks on our cars simply do not. the reason the MAC's appealed to me is that they sounded right for the muffler to be mounted behind the axle; they don't need the extra piping to resonate.

but these flowmaster clips, with the original 40 series, just sound so damn good. honestly, from the clips, it sounds like a 5.0 with flows and dumps. honestly, from the clip, its the exact sound i want. but i don't know if it will really sound like that. any insight?

also, has there been any thought to mounting the mufflers before the axle? theres gotta be room; even if you turn the mufflers 90 degrees. would mounting the muffs heres make it sound more like the 2v, giving it that resonant, deep sound?
