Default Axle Back Install

Hey guys. Today's the day.... the SLP Loudmouths are going to be put on. My plan is to back the car onto ramps in the driveway and swap out the axlebacks. Anyone have any advice, tips for me? Also, Tacobill's write-up is great, are there any others.... i'd like to get someone else's perspective. From what iunderstand, aligning the tipsis tedious work.

Video and Pics will be taken afterwards =]

This is a 15 minute job if you loosen the clamps at the H-pipe and pull the mid pipes out of the clamp. The first time I removed the axle backs I didn't remove the clamps at the H-pipe and I had to remove the hangers from the rear subframe to get the mufflers out. It took me closer to 45 minutes doing it that way.

To get my Flowmasters to align correctly, first I moved the mounting brackets as far as they would go in the direction I wanted, then I had to use a long prybar to "Nudge" the mufflers to the perfect position. The flowmasters have long mounting pins that somehow get a little tweaked in shipment. They bend easily, but I didn't go crazy...
I also used a little copper paste where the pipes join, just to ensure no leaks...
Hope this helps.

I just finished putting mine on a few hours ago. I didnt use any ramps or a lift. I did it the way the directions said and I found with a extra person its a real easy job. Took me about 1.5 hours (45min of that was by myself). I found its pretty easy to align everything right if you dont tighten everything all the way down and have someone hold the pipe where you want it and then tighten all the bolts. Hope this helps. Youre gonna love em!

I just added my GTAs this weekend ... easy job, ... but you'll need a "box-end 13mm rachet wrench" to get the hangers off easily.
You'll also need a standard 13mm and 15mm sockets as well.

Install everything as per TacoBills guide, ... then , if the exhaust pipes aren't aligned quite like you want, ... do NOT spend 2 or 3 hours trying to force them into position. What I did was to just drive down to an exhaust shop and ask them to make the adjustments for me. In my case I drove the car to Midas, .. they put it up on the lift, .. heated up the front end of the pipe where it goes into the muffler, .. and 2 minutes later it was done. They didn't charge me because it was so quick, .. so I tipped them $20.

Hope this helps
Allen

Thanks for the tips guys!
Install went good.... got everything lined up really really good. I do hear a bit of rattling every once ina while which is really strange bc it goes away and comes back
Anyone else have this problem?
At first i think it was a breaker bar up againsy my subwoofer... but now thats gone and theres still some. May need to be re-tightened. I'll get to that at some point this week lol.
