Default Off road Headers no cats waaay to loud...

Hi people, It’s been two weeks and a hundred miles since I installed SSW LT off road headers and removed the cats, I had previously installed Corsa muffles but seriously the car became I mean ridiculously loud, I also had to temporarily remove the H pipe so its two independentstraight tubes all the way to the exit, (The Corsas are basically straight through design) Anything out of the vacuum zone above 2000 rpm makes an absurdly loud noise.
What should I do to take the sound to a livable level?, I am thinking about putting back the stock mufflers and add a custom made H or X pipe, but I would like to hear your opinions/suggestions/experience. I don’t know much about exhaust systems but considering there is consensus about axle backs not providing any extra HP, if you reverse engineer that, putting back the stock mufflers shouldn’t hurt performance right?
Thanks for your input.

Yeah, you are right about the hp deal with the mufflers.I decided to be an idiot one day and removed the cats frommy carwith flowmaster american thunder axlebacks already on it. Needlesss to say, it was very loud. I mean i couldnt drive it normally around town if i wanted to without getting a noise violation ticket. I decided to have the cats welded back on. I wasnt really looking for hp so im pretty much content with what i got now. So i guess its up to you. Both of your ideas will definately make a sound difference. You can also try some hi flow cats.

Thanks for your input, I think my first step will be to put the oem mufflers back on and see what happens

You ought to get a crossover pipe of some sort back in there soon, as you're losing horsepower having two independent pipes.
