f1fan every1 running those high hp and drag s197s have tried cams and they all have gone back to the stock ones. Just give anyone a call, call livernois, ask fordfanboy, ask spyder ask anyone and they will all tell you that the aftermarket cams for the s197s are pathetic at their best. All of the companies are working hand to get a better profile out but until then all the cams out there are just a slight variation of the stock ones nothing else. Like I explained on an earlier post, most gains from a manufacturer trying to sell you part is done after letting the engine cool down. A cool engine will throw 15 rwhp easily more than a heated one. So 22hp + 15 =37 so that is where I think that 22hp for cams is the real life gain and IMHO that is pathetic. Stop reading the magazines and what every seller is trying to tell you to sell you a piece of ShÃ*t. After all because if they say they got the gains they should have right?.... hmm then I should sell my freaking POS C&L intake and buy the S&B perforamnce intake because rpmoutlet states it gives you 25rwhp to the wheels here is the link http://rpmoutlet.com/05gtsnb.htm

Cheers
Andrew

its just that its hard to believe that STAGE 3 cams dont add a lot of hp... (30-40 rwhp).........

because they are not really stage 3's they are the stock ones with very mild modifications. The companies just made those to get a product in the market to get some $ in. They are all working hard into getting some good grinds, just hold on. There might be a worthwhile cam within a year I hope...

yes I do hope. I was talking to a friend who has a 2004 Mustang GT, and he put a full exhaust, and intake... then gears, and then he put the stage 3 comps in his and made 91 rwhp just from the cams... is he telling the truth?

Lenko, do you have any numbers or dyno results???

No numbers or dyno, just general observed improvements in the way the car performs and runs.

I remember him. His name is John and I went on the mid atlantic Mustang cruise with him. I remember him saying that his gains from the comp cam stage 3 were around 20 rwhp and he lost torque. Not only that, I believe he had quite a bit done to the car... (headers, mid pipe, catback, intake, shifter... gears?)
