hey all,hows everyone,i was wondering if you could use the diablo on other fords besides yours to check for codes,my wifes 01 taurus is sputtering right after take offand backing up.let me know,i have to try to fix this today and i tried a search at no prevail.

You can IF both cars are supported by the same Diablo model. In our case that probably does not apply. I assume you have a U7140 or U8000 (Professional version). The applications only support 2005+ 4.6L 3 valve Mustang.

yes,i have the u7140,i have to know whats causing the sputtering,i think its the plugs but not sure.my father thinks it could the the 02 sensor.

I assume the 01 Taurus has CEL (Check Engine Light) so if it was the 02 sensor the CEL would light up and indicate an engine check required. If you haven't gotten that condition then start by making sure both ends of your plug wires are secure andthat they are in good condition. If that's all good, pull the plugs and make sure they too are in good shape (clean burn, no oil, etc.)
