Where's my fuel filter and can I change it myself?

Where's my fuel filter and can I change it myself?
I just got an oil change and the dealership said it was time to change the fuel filter. I never have them do anything I can do, so can I change it myself? Also where will I find it?

RE: Where's my fuel filter and can I change it myself?
Its located on the driver's side in front of the fuel tank. It is hidden from view by a protective cover called a "fuel tube bundle shield". The shop manual says to do the following:
1. Release the fuel system pressure. This is done by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine and running it until it stalls.
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Place the car on a hoist.
4. Remove the two fuel tube bundle shield retaining bolts.
5. Remove the two fuel tube bundle shield retaining nuts.
6. Remove thefuel tube bundle shield pushpin retainer clip and position the shield aside.
7. Disconnect the fuel filter quick-disconnect couplings and replace the filter.
Caution! Be sure that the fuel lines are completely seated and that the quick-disconnect couplings are locked correctly in place.
8. Put everything back in reverse order and test for leaks (fuel pump fuse back in, battery hooked up and start car). I would check for leaks before I put the shield back on.

Didn't they just change your oil? Just an observation...

Thanks Lees, doesn't seem too bad. The dealer wanted $55 to change it.

You wouldn't save anything doing it yourself. But you'd know it was done right, and at $35 you'd have Mobil 1 synthetic and a good fuel filter and no uncaring 16 year old would have touched your car.
These are our loves man, spend the extra money!
But anyways good question because I was wondering this too, and thanks for the answer lee

True, but how much would I save considering the oil change was $19.00?

Ahh, thank you.
My current girlfriend took her car in to the dealer and they wanted $350 to change her fuel filter, in cabin air filter, and air filter. We went to Advance Auto and bought said parts for about $40 and did it in my driveway. Her fuel filter was really easy, no cover or anything. Just unplug and plug back in.
