RE: Wanting to Replace the Radio
I just installed this stereo. It's great, with good ipod controls. Definitely better than the Shaker 1000, but it made all the rattles way worse (just dynamatted the trunk and will do the doors soon hopefully.
The install was super easy. Crutchfield includes the wiring harness and frame (the cage that makes it fit Ford's nonstandard opening) so all you have to do is match wire colors and do a little soldering (or crimping) and its pretty much plug and play.

Naa you don't have to replace the speakers with an aftermarket head unit. I"m sure it would sound better with a new unit but all he was trying to do was make some more commission on you

No I agree that you will need to probably replace the speakers.....any new HU will be putting out alot more than the stock speakers can handle....on the back of the speakers they are stamped 25 Watts....plus you really wont hear that much improvement with the crappy paper speakers....it takes 150-200 to replace all 4 but totally worth it.
