Default SLP long tube header instal questions

I am helping a friend of mine install his SLPlong tube header on his 2007 mustang GT, and am running into a bit of a problem. He has a Magnaflow cat back exhaust, and stock H-pipe. We are trying to install the header to this combination, but looking at it I really don't think thatthe long tube header was made to work with the stock H-pipe.I am thinking there are two ways to make that header work, modify the stock H-pipe by cutting out the catts and addingin an extension or buying the SLP X-pipe withtheir catts on it.Could someone please confirm that I am looking at this correctly??

The other question that I have isif we do need the X-pipe, how wellit work with the exhaust? The X-pipe looks as if it has a two bolt, type flange on the end that connects to the exhaust, but the Magnaflow exhaust is the slip in/clamp type fitment. Will we need to modify this to make it fit to the exhaust once we get the X-pipe???

Thanks in advance for the help

The longtubes will not work with the stock mid-pipe. The flange on the x-pipe is only used for the stock manifolds. Since you already have the headers get the short version of the x-pipe. It comes without the two extensions that hook to the manifolds and it clamps to the headers.

Yeah I was going to get the shorter version, but the flange that I was talking about is shown on the exhaust end. His exhaust is a magniflow that is a slipin/clamp type. Here is the pic of it

That is the one you need. That picture is incorrect. You will use the clamps that connect the H-pipe to the over axle pipes. It doesn't matter what brand muffler.
