Mine is pretty quiet but I'll listen for that sound now. More noises to be paranoid of now[]

I have a friend that just got the detroit tru trac and 4.10's installed and he is having alot of issues with noise too. When he finds out what is wrong i'll let you know. It's in the shop right now and he's hoping it's figured out before the end of the week.

I have a trutrac and 4.10's...mine make a minor whine around 45mph and up only when totally off the throttle, the mechanic reshimmed from one end of fords specs to the other and it still does it...not sure if its the gears or the detroit...it also make a SLIGHT ratcheting sound when coming to a stop not sure if thats what your refering to....

Mine is dead quiet with 3.73 gears. If yours is making noise I would say it’s an installation problem.

hummm yah it might just be an incorret installation! and yes it does seem like it reattatchingorsimilar sound to it. also I talked to a rep a detroit and he said its normal for it to make noise, but really the sounds my car is making does not seem normal.

The tru-trac just doesn’t make much noise, now the locker make lots of noise but you really shouldn’t be getting much from your tru-trac.
