Default Fuel Pump and a Poweradder


What rwhp can our stock fuel pumps hold up to? Im going to be getting the GT 40 pumps but i was just curious

I have seen that any where above the 400 mark people start looking into replacing the stock one...the GT500 is recommended after 400.....

I read an article in a Mustang magazine last year about how it was good up to 460 HP. I don't know if that was rwhp or at the flywheel. It didn't say.

I'm running 435 with a BAP from Vortech... my tuner told me I'm good now...but just at the edge of running out.... anything more... GT500 pump for me.... and maybe 60#

Don't know exact answer to your question...but I was using 39 lb injectors (think stock are 24)and a piggyback system up to about 480 rwhp (Dynojet), then car starting running lean, so went to 60 lb inj and GT500 dual pumps. Couple of weeks ago, the relay that activates the second pump failed and the car started running lean again (only 1 of the 2 pumps working). Quick fix and fine now but been told they're good until about 650-700 rwhp only.

u can run 450 as long as you give the pump more amperage by rewiring it i m pushing 452rwho on stock pump for over a year now, no probs
