Default Help with Transmission/Differential Fluids.

I have a 2006 Mustang GT manual transmission.

I was wondering if someone could help me with what kind of transmission fluid and differential fluid Ford says to use when changing them.
Thanks!

Is'nt that for automatics? I have a manual hehe.

I read for manual you are supposed to use the following..

Tranny:
Motocraft ATF

Rear End:
Motocraft SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant
Then add 4oz of Additive Friction Modifier XL-3.

Is this the same as what you said to use?

it's also used in the TR3650 manual transmission. ATF stands for automatic transmission fluid.

Why in the hell does it say to use Motocraft MERCON ATF in the instruction manual under manual trans?

that's what they use in most ford manual trannys, my 91 GT with a T5 also used the ATF.
the fluid spec's and capacity are right out of the shop manual that I have access to here at the
Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealership that I work for.

Keep in mind that you can run Mercon 5 in these trannys too without any ill effect. Supposed to be synthetic--smoother operation, runs cooler, etc. etc.
