Pinging after dyno tune?

seafoam is pretty harsh.
i highly doubt its engine's internals or gas quality from what thread starter has been saying. It could be something moving or scraping against something that only happens under WOT. (engine moves the most)

My pinging problem happened only at WOT.

RE: Pinging after dyno tune?
My 2 cents on the issue. (not that I am by any means an expert)
In stock form, I had noticed an extremely hot days (central florida), that I would get a bit of pinging noise. I tried using the standard 87 octane fuel since I had been running 89 octane since the car was purchased. The problem got worse. After a couple months of research, I order a tune from a reputable tuner. The noise is now only in the 5000 - 5500 RPM range and nowhere else. Really only in second and third gear since there arenot many places where I live that I can make that sort of run to the top of fourth. In recent weeks, we have had a few colder days where temperatures were in the upper 50s andlower 60s. On these mornings, I did notice a better kick from the car, but also the noise was gone in the top of second gear, and very minimal in the top of third. As everyone knows, these cars do produce a lot of heat, so could this issue be from excessive heat and really only a problem when the engine is in need of more air at wide open throttle. This is just an idea, for I am only running a tune for a stock intake car and nothing more.

RE: Pinging after dyno tune?
Well, I did the Seafoam treatment and have yet to hear the pinging sound after a number of WOT runs. I will keep you posted if I do here the sound again, but it appears to have fixed the problem.
