RE: Pypes MidMuffler and Pypes O/R H
Hey guys,
Well on the drive home I got my first reall compliment on my Pype O/R X pipes and Mid muffler system. It was from a guy in a 96-98 GT with wide DRs out back. He switched lanes a few times to get equal with me, I didn't even get a chance to get on it, I was just puttering along in traffic and doinga couple 1/4 throttle blips to fill the gaps. Told me that he really liked the sound and repeated this 3 times, told him thanks and he went on his way.
Most of my compliments have come from other S197 guys with the occasional new edge but this is a first from the older stangs. Now just waiting on someone with a 5.0 to say he likes the 3V sound.

Aircare.... I think we cured the majority of the rattles, except for the passenger side tailpipe which seems to be the problem now. I dont think the stock H pipe really made it easier... it was just a matter of taking the whole system apart andadjusting the drivers side pipe further toward the back of the car. It was hitting the panhard brace. I kinda regret taking the O/R H off now though... the system is quieter than my old SLP's (but it does sound better). I think what really turned me off with the OR H was the louder sound, combined with the rattling which was driving me crazy. I was getting out of the car with a headache after I drove it. I shoulda gave it some more time with the O/R H, with not rattling to see how I like it.
Now, I'm selling the O/R H bc I dont want to pay to put it back on, and then pay to take it off if it is in fact too loud lol. I am gonna get something less agressive... maybe an H with high flow cats, or a catted x (which hopefully isnt raspy).
It never ends......

Have any of you Pypes MM guys noticed the tips deteriorating quickly? Mine have been on for less than 30 days and are beginning to rust/corrode pretty badly. I guess I got what I paid for. As for sound... orgasmic with the o/r Prochamber.

I only had mine on for about 6MO. But after that, my tips were still in great shape. Did not run much during the winter though, might be why they stayed in good shape. Here's a pic I took when I sold the kit;
