Default Seeking help from the Whipple S/C crowd

This might be an unusual request, but maybe some of you with Whipple superchargers can help me out. I was planning on getting a Saleen blower, but the Series VI may be a pain to get to fit with my Steeda cowl hood (the tight fit by the firewall is compounded by the design of my hood). Still doing the research/considering optionson that issue, but I'malso considering another option: a Whipple blower. Twin screw units fit what I aim to do, and I like what I see and read about the Whipple units, so I'm considering going with a Whipple now.

Anyway, here's what I need to know: what it the vertical distance (or clearance, however you want to look at it) between the rear top edge of the Whipple blower housing to the bottom of the plastic "ledge" that sits just above the firewall? Here's a picture to illustrate what I'm looking for:

Like I said, a bit of an odd question, but knowing that distance will help me make sure I can fit a Whipple S/C. From looking at it versus the Saleen, I think I'd have plenty of room, but I want to make sure. If anyone can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again guys,

David

hammeron wanted to just show off his polished underhood jewlry.

Why would you have problems if you have a cowl hood. wouldnt you have more?

For the most part I do have much more room. Unfortunately, there is one place that I end up with less room: just in front of the firewall. The Steeda cowl hood, on the underside of the hood, dips down just before the firewall, then raises back up to the higher level. Sort of like a long, upside-down bump. At any rate, this feature, combined with the close fit of the Saleen blower to the firewall, seems to cause problems.
Check out this thread, https://mustangforums.com/m_4008267/tm.htm, and look at Prometheus Prime's orange & white GT. You'll see the bump I'm talking about at the rear of the hood, and the gigantor chunk they took out to makethe Saleen blowerfit. Right now, I'm trying to figure out if lowering the engine a 1/2" would solve the issue. If not, I may go with a Whipple or Kenne Bell blower; both are twin screw types (which is what I want), but their design allows for more room near the firewall.

Something to think about for anyone looking to buy both a hood and a supercharger[&:]

Thank you as well, sir! I'll take all the reference material and data I can get right now. Best to go into something like this with plenty of knowledge, I say.
