New recommendations for oil please

RE: New recommendations for oil please
First of all do never take a word for anybody as the real truth, even mine.
I just will tell you what I know so far for what I've found, first, I know a couple of guys that are the national distributors of big name oil companies, both as we start talking about my new car the first thing they've told me is to stop using 5W20 oil as soon as the engine had some miles in it. They explained to me that the 20 grade is in use in the states only because of the fuel savings on the highway mpg it provides that make manufactures meet epa requirements more easily. That the 20 oil aint that bad but wont give you the protection needed for this kind of engines in the long term. Their recommendation was to start with a 20 and after some miles switch to 30 full synthetic. I believed them but up to an extent, so I did what every wise man should do to start with, let see what the manufacturer says.
My car is as american as yours, made in Michigan but with a metric speedometer in kmh. By local government issues, the car has to have a spanish manual, so we end with two manuals, the same that you received in th US with the nylon fabric wallet and a mexican version.
Both manuals are basically the same, except in one particular place, the recommended oil to use.
Look what the mexican version says:
By the middle of the page where it reads:

It's recommended the use of Motorcraft SAE 5W-30 motor oil or similar that meet WSS-M2C929-A Ford specification.
If available, you must use Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 motor oil or similar that meet WSS-M2C930-A Ford specification. The SAE 5W-20 motor oil gives you fuel economy and optimal performance while meeting with all the need of the engine of your car.
So, make your own conclusions.
I made mine.

RE: New recommendations for oil please
youve read my reply from M0ddedMustangs.com, and here it is again
Mobil 1 5w20 full syn, Castrol 5w20 full syn, or Amsoil 0w20 full syn (better for winter...)
Use 6-6.5 quarts. go off the dipstick, NOT recommendations.
From my understanding, 4.6's like to spin bearings even at 1/2 quart low...
I use Amsoil 0w20 year round. Never failed me.
In an independent test (dyno tested by fast fours and rotaries mag), Royal Purple was rated 7th among leading oil manufacturers, tested were european castrol, amsoil, mobil, and others.
Believe me, Royal purple is a Texas/Texan made product. If it didnt place as bad, I would be using it, I fully support anything my state makes.
amsoil, castrol, and mobile won the test, placing as I just listed them (1,2,3)
RP held a LOT of metallic particles, and changed viscosity a lot.
Amsoil did neither, stayed perfectly consistent, and overall beat every other one on the market.
Amsoil even challenged the other manufacturers to produce a better oil than them, and they would take down their statement of being the BEST IN THE WORLD.
No one has been able to do that.
Thats my suggestion, either of those three.

RE: New recommendations for oil please
Hey 06saleen!
As for your question, in my experience i've found olice oil to provide the best protection and performance, and if you want more top-end hp, add about a tbs of vinegar
Be careful guys, In recent studies amsoil was one of the worst oils to use in our cars, and mobile and castrol I believe were the best.
Also, keep in mind that FRAM FILTERS SUCK!!! Really, they do, they get loaded up with contaminants and slow your oil flow....
The best was Motorcraft filters!!! I know, quite surprising.
With this said, I use the 5w-20 mobil 1 and a motorcraft (pl2???) filter.
The best combo IMO, and in recent studies
