Default body kit and performance!

Hey guys,

I would like to have your input on the issue of body kits and performance.

we have alot of designs in the market ... some which are good looking and some which are ugly.... however, as far as I know, the performance body kit should help the air flow on the car and push it downwards for better grip on high speeds. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

Now which of existing body kits do actually work?!

(I’m looking for a front bumper to be precise)

Cheers,
AK

I couldn't tell you off hand but I would imagine most front ends are designed to get more air into the radiator and intake(not to make it more aerodymanic) maybe a chin spoiler helps you stick to the road more(and some of these other bumpers on the market with similar lips)....As far as the rest of body parts go all the air ducts they make for the side of the car are fake and probably make you worse off when it comes to aerodymanic...you could make them real by cutting body/Plexiglas for widow and run a pipe/tube to brakes..... Rear spoilers..Im sure they all help a little in keeping the tail end down but to really keep it down you would prob need a real big ricer wing and seriously who wants that? Just go with the one you think looks best(unless you are running it on a road racetrack)......And finally side skirts.....I really dont think they do anything but look nice....Hope all that helped you out lol

hammeron is right on the money. Look at what actual race cars use. I garentee that they use it because it works... not because it's "mad tyte yo!" Stocker front end with a CDC aggressive chin and some adjustment rods is what I see on most cars.

I agree. I doubt you're not going to see it on a race car unless it's helping performance. Besides, no one thinks a wing like that one looks good![:'(]

There was an article in MM & FF of a mustang with a full 3d Carbon boy racer kit (minus gigantic wing) that will race in the Silver State Classic. The article said that this kit was selected for its aerodynamic purposes over 200mph.
