Not sure because I haven't done it yet but I believe the KB gets louder when you start pushing more boost. I think its the same for any SC, they get louder the more boost you run.
Upping the boost on the whipple changes the pitch, but it's just as loud at 8psi as it is at 10, just a lower pitch whine or howl at 8.

I live right next to kenne bell and the only reason I didnt not get it is because it is super quiet. As for the thread earlier how kB research is the best, I would no put Ford Racing research below that. The Ford Racing name is much more prestigous than KB.

1) The KB has the filter in the front bumper - not the wheelwell (true cold air intake)
Wheel well, bumper, my point was I like seeing the filter, that's all, purely an aesthetics value. I'm sure the kb filter placement get's colder air, atleast at idle. Cruising down the road my intake air temps and ambient air temps are about 5-10 degrees difference depending on the speed. How much could putting the filter in the front bumper improve that, the air still has to travel through the hot intake tube.

The KB will be able to run bigger boost easier because of it's size. To get over 20psi on the whipple you're going to have to change the crank pulley I believe, probably not on the KB.

Let's not lose are heads here. I'm sure ford racing was involved, but whipple and ford techs probably did most of the research and testing themselves. Ford racing just slaps their names on most things. I will say that the whipple techs i've talked to via email seem very knowledgable on all aspects of this car and it's computer. I emailed them when my fuel pressure started increasing while sitting in traffic. It's a bit concerning watching the pressure climb above 50psi when it's normally at 40. They replied immediately stating it was completely normal for the computer to increase pressure when the motor gets hot to prevent vapor lock. I thought my fuel pressure sensor had blown a head gasket.

Ford Racing is a big company that sells all kinds of racing parts. KB only makes superchargers.

according to Dustin, there will be a 2.9L out within 6-9 months. He said it will be more along the lines of a tuner kit. the current 140 still isnt at its max level. it will be nice to see numbers from the 2.9L whipplecompared tothe 2.6L from KB.

When I got my KB in Mar 2006, Whipple didn't have a kit for the S197. I also used the stock plugs for a long time without any issues, just had to gap them down.
Had the KB on now for almost two years and I have no regrets about my choice. 38,000 miles on the car now @10psi.
Same story here!
