P0174
Got this code today. It looks like an O2 sensor. I've heard it might be wise to clean out the MAF sensor with some brake clean and see if that does it. Any other suggestions? Thanks guys and gals!
A code P0174 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: [ul][*]The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters (K&N, etc.) can cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled[*]There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.[/ul] Possible Solutions Possible solutions include: [ul][*]In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling[*]Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary[*]Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure[/ul]
Cleaning the MAF couldn't hurt. I've cleaned mine 1/2 a dozen times or more with brake cleaner. I just give it a 2 mississippi blast.

Well guys, for now I just decided to clear the cel and see if it comes back. So far so good, and if it comes back I'll probably try cleaning the MAF with some brake clean. Thanks for your help! Can you guys imagine not having this resource?....I love being able to talk to guys and girls with the same car as me.
