Default MSD coil on plugs

Need technical help.

Will these help me on a N/A car with the full bolt-on package? Will they be worth $400?

Thanks

Rumor has it including from some respectable tuners that the stock coil packs are good up to 600HP or more. I can think of no reason to change them especially if you are NA. I had to shorten the gap on my application but am still running stock coils with no problems. I say spend the money else where.

Sure stock coils are good until 600 HP. Unless you get spark blow out because of high boost.
I upgraded my COPs when I was still naturally aspirated though. NoI did not NEED them for spark blow out but it is an easy 8-10 horepower even if I did not need them.
Under boost I have found I do have spark blow-out and these will resolvethe problemevery time.
Sometimes just gapping down the plugs wont stop the spark blow out.Especially if you are pushing over 10 PSI and it comes on instantly.
What I found is the stock coils are 20,000 volts.
The aftermarket coils are 40,00 to 60,000 depending which you buy. (GMS, Summit, Accel)
I have a set of MSD coils and I have has two sets of GMS coils.
I can not find anything that document the specs on the MSD coils though. I have heard they are not as high voltage as the others. They still run well on my car.
My car also runs better with the higher voltage coils. It revs smoother and has less hesitation.
If you are low on funds -I would not make this one of the first mods but it is a good mod for these cars.
