New mods installed
New mods installed this weekend. Sorry, I didn't take any pics. That was the last thing on my mind since I did the installs by myself.
Here is what I installed:
CHE k-member brace and torque limters
Shaftmasters 4" Drive shaft (thanks Taco Bill for the great write-up on this)
BMR DS safety loop (thanks again Taco Bill)
Pypes O/R X pipe (already had an O/R X pipe but it leaked like crazy. This one seems to be pretty tight)
Here are my impressions:
I noticed right away when I first started the car that there was additional NVH, probably from the torque limiters, but I actually like it. It seems more like a muscle car.
The SOTP dyno says the car is quicker. It feels like it accelerates faster now. This is probably due to the weight difference between drive shafts. That stock driveshaft is a pig. I did not feel any vibrations in the drivetrain. I managed to get it up to 90 on our highly patrolled roads here and it was smooth as silk.
For those of you with the Pypes O/R X pipe. Do you notice your pipes hanging low? Mine are definitely lower than stock.I hope it won't be an issue.
Next on the list are 4.10's which get installed on the 24th, I can't wait. And the MGW shifter. I'll probably do that after the gears are installed.
