Default False Mileage

Just wondering if anyone has done this or is it possible. If someone would have a gps so they knew their actual speed if they could trick there speedometer into thinking it was going slower there for making the odometer go slower. If one would use his tuner to change the gear ratio and tire size to the smallest it could go, it should make the speedometer off considerably. Could this work or does this not only reconfigure the speedometer when you change these settings? I know you wouldnt want to do it in an auto for the shift points would all be screwed up but in a manual would it work or would the timing be off also?

I don't understand the question.

Yes, you can use a tuner to throw your speedometer off in a few ways: tire size, gear ratio... But why would you WANT to?

To make the car think it's getting better mpg than a Prius.

Sounds like someone is contemplating a creative way to commit odometer fraud...[8D]

Looks like you could maybe get 10% - 20% leeway out of an SCT tuner so for every 10,000 miles you traveled the odo would only show 8,000 or 9,000.
